Differences
You and I are incredibly different
Some would say we are of separate species
I am the one nobody sees, or cares to see
You are the one everyone sees and loves
I looked upon your popularity
As a young boy would look upon a warrior
With adoration and utter awe
And hopes of someday being you
I grew to know you more
The way I spoke replicated your way of speaking precisely
The manor of which I acted was profoundly based upon you
And what you craved, became what I desired
You see, I realized that being me wasn’t enough
I had to make you like me, love me even
So i did what anybody else would do
I became someone who I was not, you
And every time I would slip up
Say something only the real me would say,
I always hoped you would laugh or make me feel welcomed
But every time there was silence of disapproval
So instead of having you find out the real me
The awkward, crazy, weird girl I am
I hide under a veil of loneliness
Of the hope that someday you would love me
I know now that this was wrong
That doing this changed my soul forever
All I have to say know is I changed everything for you
While you barely tried at all
