nature
i’ve seen wires on the ground
over grown by branches
and i’ve seen barbed wired fences
cutting into the hearts of trees
but the trees always heal themselves
and the vines always come back and
i’ve seen houses abandoned
and bought out to the woods around it
then i sat back and watched you
renovate my insides
and build buildings and sky scrapers and barbed wired fences
and i think that maybe if i leave you for long enough
and maybe if i just give myself time
nature will come to me too
nature will come and over grow these harsh buildings
and tendrils of myself with make their way up these
harsh wires
and the buildings will fall and the wires will rust and
one day none of it will resemble the name
i can feel the pollution of the city
slowly being cleared as the days go by
i have to admit
i have tried to rebuild these buildings
there was a time when i missed the rush
and i missed the excitement
of a busy city
but then i remember that i am not ready for this.
i am meant for pebbles and cold wind
fresh air and subtle suns
moons and mountains
and i felt it all destroyed
and slowly
slowly
im starting to miss myself
more than i miss you
