Fallen Leaves
I looked into her eyes
And into the windows of her soul
I saw the world glowing
And her spirit shining
Like the stars of the universe
Such beauty was so unreal
And her warmth melted my heart
I sunk into the life of happiness
Living in harmonious serenity
But then they came
And tore us apart
They took us from our home
And led us into darkness
I saw her beauty rot
And her will to live was gone
She disappeared from my hands
And faded into dust
Ever falling from my fingers
A once perfect paradise
Stripped from me and my beloved
For so long I lived in darkness
I reveled in it and lost my soul
I searched for it
But it was too far away
That was when I saw the light
They came and took us out of the darkness
And led us into the unknown
A mysterious place
Alas! The New World
We were taken by them
From our tree of life
And left to die
Like fallen leaves
