Honestly
Hopes and Dreams,
that’s what They say,
that’s what They name them.
They say,
‘never give up’
They say,
‘set your goals high’
They say,
‘I believe in you’
They say,
‘you can do it’
But I’m so far.
The end,
my goal,
is on the other side,
and I can’t see it,
I can’t feel it.
It seems as though
I’ll never reach it.
It teases and mocks me,
amusing itself
with each of my humiliations.
I give in,
I’ll never make it,
I surrender.
When will you be honest?
It always wins,
but you already knew that.
