Girls...
Girls are kind,
Girls are calm,
Girls are sophisticated,
They drill these facts in your head
I feel the ropes surrounding me,
Enclosing me,
I feel them tightening,
Do you feel it?
They scream in my ears,
Sit up straight,
Maintain your posture,
I feel the bruises forming.
This is your life,
When you are surrounded,
By a culture that is drowning in sexism.
Girls stay at home,
Cooking,
Cleaning,
Awaiting the arrival,
Of their highness.
When they come home,
Serve the food,
You are the maid,
Waiting to tend to any needs.
No freedom,
No rights,
Just a lifeless servant.
This is our life,
We are stuck,
With a horrifying culture,
That believes men are dominant.
Wrists are bound,
The rope cutting into skin,
As they struggle,
Can't you see the blood dripping down?
Do you see the tears,
Dripping down their faces,
Begging for help,
For someone to hear them.
Count yourself lucky you're not one of us?
