Let's Pretend
Mirror mirror let reflect
My eyes are painted
My hair is set
But despite the perfection of my face
My precious mind is completely displaced
But let pretend that we're o.k.
That I don't whine
That you don't cry
And that we don't feed them the same line
"Yea I’m fine"
Let’s pretend there are no sins to be paid
That this so called masquerade
Doesn’t make me afraid
Of being alone
Of being disowned
By a greater love
When I accidentally
Crush their dreams for me
By offering them a harsh reality
That I can never achieve
What they want me to be
Perfect
Worth it
I fail
I’m worthless
Let’s pretend I’m not
Suspended in a predicament
That I didn't snap
I’m just bent
Oh and let’s pretend my rebel stage
Is just a faze
But honestly I’m fighting through a maze
Of crazed
And raw emotions
And a struggle of devotion
To what I save
And what's already broken
Because of actions and what was spoken
Causing an uprising of commotions
That burn in my soul
That set the heart to fire
That ignites the desire
That fuels the ambition
That keys the ignition
That starts the redemption
And yet I want to stop
And be good again
But when evil plays your best friend
It’s easier to start than to end
And when you try to mend
All of your broken ties
When your enemies become your closest allies
When your fears come back to life and you realize
To your own surprise
That you cannot be summarized
Through an angels eyes
Welcome to life
But then again we're just pretending
