What is New Years
I see no great importance, to the changing of the year,
its just another excuse to drink another beer.
Sure, some people kiss at the drop of the midnight ball,
but other people stay at home, and do nothinf at all.
The bars are full of people, most rowdy and loud,
and through the streets people roam, forming a large crowd.
Waiting in awe of nothing more than another midnight,
January first, once again, the sky begins to light
Nothing new has happened, so home do they head,
forgetting everything, and heading off to bed.
The new year means nothing, very few will change,
all of these rituals seem very strange.

In one of my classes we were given a list of questions, one being "is new years important to you?" and with our question we had to find a creative way to answer, so I chose to take what i like to call, the Dr. Suess way, and make a very rhyme filled poem.
