We Were Once Something We Aren't Now
What was once just a thought,
Turned into a despairing feeling.
Upon vocalization,
The realization overcame me.
A disbelief that was once my own,
Became a car crash to the heart, for the two of us.
The tears from the hidden misery,
Were ones that made you see I was drowning.
You said, “It will be okay,”
And a shutter overcame me.
These are words I cannot foresee
Being the truth, at least not today.
What is to become of us?
How will this change how we look at one another?
Right now I can barely look into your eyes without crying,
And you hide behind your smile.
These feelings were once just thoughts.
These emotions were once just fears.
These tears were once just nonexistent.
Now I am scared and I don’t know what to do.
We were once happy…
Now…
Where are we?
