There it Was Again
There it was again.
The laughter of two 5 year olds,
and a 6 year old trying to not let things crumble.
There it was again.
The two five year olds making a mess,
only leaving it for the other to clean.
There it was again.
The feeling of adrenaline as they ran away,
while she had a feeling of fear.
There it was again.
The parents coming in, looking around,
eyes landing on the older one.
There it was again.
The yelling of irresponsibility,
the walk of shame, the eyes landing on the floor.
There it was again.
The anger in the face,
but no regret in the eyes.
Because they finally understood.
There it was again.
The older sister taking the blame
for what the young ones had done.
