My Friends
The sun is my friend
during the day.
Energetic, charismatic,
coming out to play.
Embracing me warmly,
it seems to say,
"Love you I do,
but leave you I may."
Then a blaze of orange,
A single bright ray.
The friend that loves me,
sinking away.
Then up comes the moon,
boldly shining out.
A silvery orb,
my friend no doubt.
My pearly friend
whom I would be lost without.
Graciously smiling,
regally gazing about.
My dependable friend,
firmly devout.
Going to sleep,
retracing its route.
The sun returns,
renewed and refreshed.
This sequence continues forever,
with no end.
The cycle continues,
with each as my friend.
