Vikings game
Purple and gold smother the stadium
The aroma of peanuts, hot dogs, burgers, and beer
All happy in the white winter snow
Fog comes out of everybody’s mouths
Lights glistening on the now frozen football field and
the scoreboard shines 35 to 14 and
the vikings are on the wrong end of the stick.
Chanting fans start to fade
Less shouts of
Less people
Chilly weather gives the fans goosebumps
The most loyal fans stay shivering
Others leave to go to the bar.
The players look at the stands in disgust.
All they see is white snow
and pink cheeks of only fourteen frostbit fans.
The players feel
they need to play
for those most loyal fans.
