Bittersweet

Oh but he likes the moon
and I like the stars
And he sits with me, lies with me
as I feel the pleasant rain drip, drip, dripping down my skin
and he says he’s lonely
and I truly understand
and he understands
how I feel about parents
and insecurities
and maybe even life
and he is so sweet
that it makes the bitter
evermore strong.
