Pennies
I will not wake you up early,
because I like to sleep in.
But I will lie next to you
under a blanket fort that will eventually collapse.
I will remove the pennies from your pockets
and leave them on the ground,
because I know you love finding them.
I will love you with all of my heart,
and I will kiss you as if with my last breath.
I will not know when to stop talking
and accuse you of doing the same.
I will hold your hand when you are tired,
and joyful, and lonely, and excited,
and when you think that there is nothing worth holding onto.
I will not wake you up early,
but I will be there when you do.

This was inspired by one of Sarah Kay's poems entitled "Love Poem #137". I wrote it for my boyfriend, so some of the things that may not make sense to all, make perfect sense to me.
