A Crack in the Sidewalk
Creeping it’s way
through the crack in the sidewalk,
a blush bud,
stretches it’s vine to greet the morning sunshine.
Two little leaves,
reaching for warmth from their mother sun.
Pedals break free from the tight bud’s strength.
A beautiful miracle performed,
unnoticed by the busy world surrounding.
Petite perfection.
A gift from god.
Sent down to make us
stop and stare.
Notice the beauty
that truly surrounds us.
God sent you a smile.
A blossom of hope.
Opening your eyes
to the love everywhere.

This poem was inspired by a photo I took as a child. It made my day to see such a beautiful victory by nature in my everyday life.
