&ldquo; You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.&rdquo; -Mae West<br /> &quot; It had long since come to my attention that people of accomplishment rarely sat back and let things happen to them. They went out and happened to things.&quot; - Leonardo Da Vinci

Years lead to parting,

all the while believing that

we will meet again someday,

with the knowledge that such a day may never come,

and with time comes forgetting precious memories

of the past and cherished moments

as time passes by without delay

despite the pleading and praying

resorting to nights of despair laying in bed

with never ending tears

that will dry

leaving marks that will fade

as even the belief turns to memory

never knowing if the other still remembers

and after all this time

knowing that even if a meeting occured

there'd be little to speak of

little to laugh about

little in common

as the other turns into a fadable memory

such is the despair of parting friendships.

Is that the end? Is that all? Do humans have so little fighting spirit against the fate they know of?

Is it so difficult to stay in touch, pulling strings whenever necessary

and meeting whenever possible with todays' technology

and all the wonders in the world.

Can time and space dispel the bonds

such that even when meeting again after great pains at the thought of never meeting again, and eventually tucking that pain in such a desolate corner that the mind barely registers it anymroe can the friends never regain the bonds?

Humans are full in infinite possibilities, and the possibilities are endless, so I'd like to believe, but that all depends on the one, as they exist in many.

They say power lies in many, but the many all start with one.
