Have to Try
Why do I have to try so hard to fit in?
Why can't I be me and not be judged?
If God created us all in His image,
Why do I have to try to be liked?
Why do I have to try to be accepted?
There's no easy answer to the question, is there?
Nobody should have to feel like they're not good enough,
So why do I have to try to be accepted?
Why do I have to try to be someone I'm not?
Am I not enough for someone?
Everyone has their own struggles, sure,
But why do I have to be someone I'm not?
I don't have to try to be perfect,
I just have to be me.
There is nothing that can stand in my way,
Because I don't have to try to be perfect.

There are too many pressures on teens these days in society, but we have to realize we don't need to cave to them. We can be ourselves, and if others don't like that, then that doesn't have to affect us. It's not a reflection on the one who's not "liked", it's a reflection on the person or people who are making that person feel like they're not being liked. We shouldn't be afraid to be ourselves around our peers.
