A Favorite Star
Tears engulf me deeply into a neverending river of sorrows,
The devil runs out out of my home to seek refuge,
And there he his, there is my love.
On Valentine’s Day I see his face,
His beauty overmatching the beauty of my favorite star,
His leather-smelling Jeep carries me away into heaven,
To him heaven is not that far.
He sneak-peeks my miserable face,
The smile wishes to see my teardrops fade away,
But all he does is hum and wait.
The steering wheel is steady, like the beat of his heart,
He whispers into the night like a breeze, and I finally give into a playful smile,
Until he says “You remind me of my favorite star,”
I grin, give him a peck on the cheek and he warmly squeezes my hand.

Inspired by a glowing star and a rusty-colored Jeep that peered outside my window on Valentine's Day.
