I Hate What You Did But Still Love You
Green eyes envy more than blue,
Fields of emeralds feel softer than ocean waves, but not to you.
Absent anarchy fills absent minds.
Your tsunami still fills mine.
Uprooted by shrieks and horrors,
Oceans create leaks.
Fires can not die once they are started.
Cities can not recover once the storm has hit.
I will not forget you.
Your eyes still deceive me.
From what spoken words were exchanged,
There's no truth left to see,
But cold souls and I'm deranged.
Feed my firewood,
But do not kindle the flame.
Do not question my theories.
Do not act surprised,
When I accuse you of manslaughter.
Do not leave me alone.
Do not come closer.
Stay silent.
Watch the clouds drift.
Watch them sink and raise,
While crickets chirp and graze.
Hovering butterflies hesitate,
For you to understand;
When I now look along the vast horizon,
That paints the miraculous sky of blue,
I no longer see you.
