If You Died Today
If you died today,
The stars would still shine,
The sun would still burn bright,
And the world would still turn.
If you died today,
The moon wouldn’t hide,
Time wouldn’t stop,
And a black hole wouldn’t open up.
But, if you died today,
My voice would leave after all the crying,
My eyes would never run dry,
And I would never be able to laugh the way I did before.
If you died today,
Your mother would have lost her baby.
She would sit in your room,
And wonder what she did wrong.
If you died today,
Your father would sob and he wouldn’t stop.
He would walk past your room with a drink in his hand,
And wonder how he didn’t see the signs.
If you died today,
Your best friend will feel alone.
They would flip through pictures of you,
And wonder what would have happened if they had shown more love.
If you died today,
Your sibling would have lost their role model.
They would hold the necklace you gave them,
And wonder how soon they can join you.
If you died today,
The world would still turn,
The sun will still shine,
But nothing would ever be the same.

I have heard people say so many times, "Nothing would change if I were to die today." False, everything that mattered would change becasue they were gone.
