The Change in Life
A girl wandered up to the sea shore
The sea was calm and blue
She thought to herself what a bore
She knew that this scenery was new
She began to run at the park
Her mother had accompanied her
A dog began to growl and bark
He did not recognize her
The dog had been raised by the girl
As a pup, he knew her well
But now the dog had a different name, Pearl
The girl was caught in a spell
When the sun began going down
The girl walked to the seashore once again
She noticed the water turning a light brown
At the bottom, she saw a toy train
The girl took the toy train back home
She showed it to her mother proudly
The toy train’s windows began to grow foam
The foam burst into her eyes and she screamed loudly
Her mother took her to the hospital
Thinking that her precious daughter would be okay
The doctor said the results are hostile
Her eye’s health was at bay
The little girl was blind
The accident disabled her badly
Everyone tried to be kind
It was a mistake, sadly
The little girl was sent to a special school
For the children who are blinded
Everyone at the school though the little girl was cool
Many who envied her wanted her to be absent
The girl is now twelve years old
She is the smartest girl in school
She was now understood and was bold
Some respect her and some are just cruel
She makes her way to the sea shore
Almost every single evening
She listens to something she adores
The sound of the sea like a heart beating
The little girl was only five when she was blinded
To this day, she still has that toy train she found at sea
She is still to this day absent-minded
But she thinks that she may again be able to see

This poem was written by me in a short amount of time. I was writing this for school and the idea for this poem just came to my head.
