The Pain
Falling apart
Bit
By
Bit
Pieces scattered like
leaves falling from the trees
Already dead as they fall
Dead before they had
A chance to clutch on
Clinging so desperately
To this life
Consumed by this world
The pain
We so desperately wish to get rid of
Just keeps growing
We try to get rid of it
In all the wrong ways
The Pain
Pulverizes us down to the ground
Digging
Cold and bruised
Scratching
Thrashing
Bleeding
We reach for that ledge
Of the 6 foot hole that’s been dug
Fighting so desperately
But we were already dead
Before we had a chance to clutch on.
