Two Soldiers
Two soldiers fight through the haze of battle,
Defeated-they seek not to be,
One delivers the blow that ends his foe,
And his brother ceases to breath.
Two soldiers fight through the haze of battle,
Bodies lay still at thier feet,
Watched by the boy who stayed in the shadows,
Till this day that boy can not sleep.
Two soldiers fight through the haze of battle,
Mindless-tears of fear on thier cheeks,
Reaching deep for courage within,
Hoping for an eternal battle's end,
For to die by the gun is short, bitter, yet sweet,
And to live forever is to die everyday,
Two soldiers fought through the haze of that battle,
And they still fight there till this day.
