Napkin of Kindness
When you’re pushed down, and trampled, left in the dirt watching,
just watching your tormentors laugh
Reach for your inner napkin of kindness, pick yourself up, right off the dirt and
Wipe off the muddy footsteps
When words are thrown at you, daggers in the air
arcing down to shatter your soul into thousands of glass pieces
Reach for your napkin of kindness to mend your broken soul and
Wipe away the shards of glass
When your heart has been broken, and all you can do is despair,
wondering how it all happened so unexpectedly
Reach for your napkin of kindness, and‘
Wipe away your tears of sadness
When you’ve been abandoned, left alone with nowhere to go except to wander,
wander in blackness
When all you can do is wonder why,
Why was I left alone?
Why does all the misfortune fall on me?
Why me?
Remember, reach for your napkin of kindness and find yourself,
find the island of light, within a sea of dark
Use the napkin of kindness to wipe away the crumbs of
loneliness
hurt
and despair.
Wipe away the crumbs and start anew.
Clean.
And then,
Lend your napkin of kindness to
someone else.
And watch the miracle as they create their own
Napkin of Kindness.

I wrote this poem to show people how to get up when they are feeling, sad, regected or abandoned. The "napkin of kindness" is all of the good things that have happened to you over time. So when you are on the ground, remember all the good things that have happened to use, and get right back up. Also, always try to go add to someone elses "napkin of kindness." Go be the person who helps them up and adds to their list of good events.
