To Have Loved and Lost
With an imagination
Perhaps too vast and graphic
I wonder why you don’t look back
With eyes like those in my dreams;
Yet I’m still reminded of brilliant gold
Ensuing a long frost
And black silhouettes across a sunrise.
With a past like mine
I scold not to have known
My hopes were far too high
And all I ask of you is this:
When I knock
Please don’t let me in
If I’m not welcome tomorrow.

There are two kinds of people in the world -- those who walk into a room and say, 'There you are' and those who say, 'Here I am'.
