True Friendship
Do you remember the willow?
That willow,
boughs sweeping,
branches swaying,
laughs and joyful shouts,
sneaking out at night,
staring at the stars?
That's what I call true friendship.
Do you remember the window?
That window,
where I could see you,
and you could see I,
broadcasted messages,
twinkles in the eye?
That's what I call true friendship.
Do you remember the bench?
That bench
where we laughed at the ducks,
and smiled at the trees,
whispered our secrets,
and followed the breeze?
That's what I call true friendship.
Do you remember the night?
That night,
where you stumbled and fell,
and cried for so long,
as I helped you up,
and made you belong?
I was there for you
as you were for me.
That's what I call true friendship.
People mess up the meaning of friendship all the time.
Friendship is doing anything for someone,
everything for each other,
and always having time.
It's sharing secrets,
and burdens,
laughing,
and crying,
together.
Being there for each other
forever,
for all eternity.
That's what I call true friendship.
