Unexpected Encounters
Didn't expect to see him again,
Made my face turn ashen when,
He said my name out loud.
Time stood still,
My mind raced up a treacherous hill,
Trying to think of how these circumstances came about.
He was there in front of me,
Not some hallucination of what could be,
He was real, and alive, and well.
No bad blood bubbled that day.
We were civil, polite; at bay.
Talked about our lives of the present and past.
Saw time move forward all too fast.
