We All Have Ghosts
I heard a name,
Saw a ghost,
Hoped nobody else,
Felt me roast.
From zero to a hundred,
I felt the heat.
Felt things turn,
Missed a beat.
Panic struck me hard.
The air left my lungs.
A hundred to zero,
My heart lastly rung.
The ghost disappeared,
Left no trace for me to follow,
And everything felt cold once more,
From the top of my skin to my bone-deep marrow.
