I am from Venezuela
I am from road trips through the plains
To long walks in the dunes.
I am from vacations at the beach
To school days on the hills.
I am from visits to grandma in the afternoon
With apple juice and a scratched knee.
I am from the disparage of time
That goes by fast to a little child.
I am from the place where things are gone
Alive only to the eyes who saw.
I am from the place where everyone speaks
Nobody does what our future needs.
I am from the town where time goes by
Without noticing or saying goodbye.
I’m from the place that used to be home.
