Attention
I could write a poem for you
but you would never hear it.
If I stretched out my shaking
hand, you
would never try to grasp it.
She bats her lashes
looking for immediate love
from someone thats no good,
because her heart is weak
from lack of a fathers love.
He stumbles outside of his
birth parents house.
His face seems to embrace
all the pain of them leaving.
Even though they have never
spoken a word.
She steers the car with
excitement on her face,
“Dad someone asked me to prom!”
“Really? Who would want
to touch you?”
She hides the tears caused by
his undefined hatred with just
one swipe of a wrist.
They will never stop looking
under rocks for the love they
never had.
Just to find the insects of this
earth
the ones that just want your blood
the ones that will never fill
the hole carved in your
seemingly hollow chest.
Inspired by my father.
