Boulders
She is herself
Exactly who she needs to be
But they don’t know
No one knows
All the destruction she has faced
To reach this place
She is perfectly poised
From the outside confident
Composed
On the inside truly decimated
She keeps herself together
No other eye sees reality
She is strong
Not in an over the top way
Her strength comes from within
Like a boulder resting below a swiftly moving river
Always there
Constantly pressing against chaos
She is joyful
Somehow she finds sunshine
And brings that light to others
Miraculously she carries herself
Grounded in hope
When there should be none to find
And you thought that you could take her
You thought that you could make her yours
Motivated only by
Selfishness
Control
Greed
Yet she is still poised, strong, joyful
She is still here, intact, living
She is still creating, inspiring, changing
Still exactly who she needs to be
She is still
Herself
