Blue Skies
Blue; the color of the sky.
A phrase ‘I’m as sure as the sky is blue’
A simile.
Why?
The sky purrs many colors
Sunrise,
sunset.
Forever unstable, uncertain, inconstant.
‘The sky is blue’ they say
The sky is hugging lilac,
kissing pink,
licking yellow,
shivering blue,
talkative red.
Even can be Draped in stars.
‘The sky is blue.’
I can see their lips curl in protest.
It’s just not blue.
Eyes can deceive us.
How do I know what you see is my truth?
How do I know that your red is my blue?
What if you see green?
Purple?
Yellow?
Orange?
We don’t.
The sky is seen as scary,
celestial.
Blue is seen as calming;
certain
mellow
alluring.
The sky can see,
Just like our eyes.
