On the city bus
I see an anxious teen with broken trust
A mother with lonely eyes
Holding a baby that cries
A college student yearning to feel
Wondering when she'll get her next meal
An old man with a bag full of cans
Hiding his bloody hands
A young girl with purple bruises
Going home to a mother who abuses
A suited man on an angry call
Reeking of alcohol
A high-schooler smoking Crystal Meth
Dreaming of his death
A bully victim wanting to hide
Awaiting her suicide
A father tired of lies
Remembering all the goodbyes
All of this I see
On the city bus
