Age On A Young Face

Childhood, ripped away from just a girl of fourteen

Her almost faded blonde hair was now replaced with a false brown

Her blue eyes didn't shine like stars any longer, in their place were gray walls that she had built up so well

Her voice was now laced with hostility in replace of youthful mischief

Her laugh which had once been so pure, now resembled the sound of a rehearsed recording

Her life now was full of days with responsibility by juggling school, bills, and watching over her erratic mother

She couldn't remember the last time she had had a home cooked meal and soft blankets in fresh air

Childhood, ripped away from just a girl of fourteen.

This is for my little sister who had to grow up way too fast. She should still be able to enjoy things and I'm just sorry I couldn't prevent what's happened.
