A Bunny
Two years ago,
I stuffed her in a closet,
because I was too old for her.
She was charcoal and cream, plush,
with strands of silver on her belly.
Covered with a blanket of dust, old and worn,
she waits for me.
The one who used to spend every night
clutching her
when she was scared or sad
until she drifted off
to find peace.
