A Brand New World
The words burn in the back of your throat
Your so close to letting them go but at the last possible second
Every single horrible outcome plays at the front of your mind and you chicken out.
You desperately need to tell someone because you feel like your drowning. That there is no one there for you.
You know that some people will accept you but you're not ready to face all of the scrutiny and judgement and questions that will come with your confession.
What do you do ,
When all you want to do is feel free
When you finally want to stop hiding in this metaphorical closet you've been put in
What do you do,
When at even the tiniest doubt that someone suspects who you are you go running back into that metaphorical closet again
When is enough, enough?
When will that moment be
where you dont have to wonder if they'll accept you.
When you can be with whoever you want.
When you dont give a rats a** what they think about you.
When you can finally express yourself freely,
Not holding back a thing.
When will that moment be,
When those fiery words that are at the back of your throat will finally be set free to catch the world you live in on fire and reveal your new life.
That brand new place where you can be just who you are.
Simply... Gay.
