better than me.
I walked into the hardware store the other day
and was immediately asked questions
“Do you know what you’re looking for?”
“Can I point you in the right direction?”
I waved the workers away
I knew what i was looking for
I knew where i was going
Just a few short minutes later
a boy, younger than me walked in
nobody asked him any questions
I don’t know why
but I have an inkling of an idea
that maybe someone felt
that since he is a boy
and I am a girl
he would know his way
around a hardware store
better than me
