The Color Blue
I watch as
the homeless man looks down at his feet,
almost as if
I’m judging him.
I give him a wave,
he deserves the kind gesture.
A soft pain resides in my
heart
when the sad commercials
appear on the television.
Why?
Touching videos,
songs,
movies,
books,
all cause me to feel
a bit of that
dull pain in my
heart.
The little girl with the tattered clothes,
she shows up to school,
her homework unfinished,
her hair unbrushed.
The class stares,
but no one says anything,
but everyone feels the
sympathy in their
hearts.
