Humans
Strange creatures, humans are.
They revel in their fantasies,
Of love at first sight, not murky or marred.
And life without death,
A gem in a jar.
Such joy in their eyes, warm and blue,
And hope in their hearts, painfully bright.
Life is a game, where souls are renewed,
Where pride comes back,
Battered and bruised.
Eventually these humans grow tired and restless,
And dream of a life where ease is a given.
Perhaps they’ve forgotten, that this is a test.
A life with a meaning
Precious at best.
