Shooting the Sky
Rain drops
Aren't rain drops
Unless the rain,
Drops
Another storm
Passing through
Shattering the weekend sun
Poor little neighbor kids
The rain is no fun
"Learn to love the water"
She said
As the clouds swept the sky
I lay
In the cold damp grass
And ponder why
We grow
As they do
The blades of grass,
I mean
"Enjoy the rain"
She said to me
And I did
Pointing my fingers up
Towards the sky
I shot the clouds above
And as they started to bleed
So did their tears of love
"It's been rainging all week"
They'll say
And I wont seem to care
Because I shot the sky that day.
