Shoplifter MAG
The gas station door chimes
to the discordant ring of Summer
barefoot
and
scanning the aisles
chocolate bars and tight-lipped
sealed packages
open one with your teeth
mama said no one should ever be
sealed and broken
sold and bought
stuff one behind
your belt
the cashier sees you through
the mirror
the door slams open and
chimes once more and then
before
you know it your feet
are slamming
against
asphalt.
