Fireworks
My love for you sparked like fireworks
It wasn't even romantic
I just loved you for you
You were heartbroken,
And I wanted to be like your older sister
Someone you could turn to for wisdom,
But you treat me like a fool
You take advantage of me and how I would do anything
You don't like to see the fireworks
So I hid them from you
Now though I am standing up
My fire growing bigger
These fireworks of mine sprout from me
Arising from my toes
To my belly
And out of my chest
Always aimed at you
Becuase...
I want you to see my fireworks
I want you to take my love
I want to be the girl you call sister
I won't back down now, no
Not even if you have someone new to love
Someone new to cling on
I want you to turn to me
I'm not like your friends
Your secrets won't leave me like they leave theirs
I have so much wisdom to provide you
That your pathetic friends don't have
Or are too strung out on the couch to say
Who are trying so hard to be something they can't be
They're so f***ed up that they can't help you
Yet...
You suck in their words like cigar smoke
Thick and heavy.
And you're dying in your dreams
To the point that my fireworks can no longer be seen
I'm sorry you're dying addicted to nicotine
My passion is no longer a cure
But when you die
So do I
As soon as you can no longer see my fireworks
As a beacon to safety
I know you'll have left this world impure.
