We Miss You
You were someone’s friend. Someone’s family.
You were the apple of someone’s eye.
You were their guardian, their mentor.
Maybe you were a student yourself.
But sadly you were taken away from all of those people.
Just because you had a badge,
And cuffed people who were bad,
You were taken away.
You were a victim of ignorance.
A mother’s baby couldn’t be a criminal, they just
Couldn’t be bad.
The only one who broke the law was you, because
You arrested their ‘innocent’ child.
Those handcuffs, those guns, those badges,
All a symbol of your power.
A symbol of how you protect.
No one wants to be arrested and branded a criminal.
And sadly would do anything to get away,
Even if it means taking you away.
Your family misses you.
Your friends miss you.
Your brothers and sisters who carry a badge miss you.
You will not be forgotten.
And sadly you wont be the last.
Unfortunately people will still fight you, maybe even try to kill you.
We hope they wont succeed, but they always might.
With a world filled of criminals, we can only hope,
You will be safe.
