Hunch Back
I’m hunched over.
I’ve got a hump on my back.
My shoulders are aching,
And there is nothing I can do about that.
Don’t tell me to sit up straighter,
Or to walk with more pride.
I don’t do it on purpose.
I just don’t have the strive.
I’m shaped like this,
Because of years of hurting.
The weight of the world,
On my now aching shoulders.
It pushes me down,
And I can’t seem to revive.
I carry this weight of the world
In the hopes that I may survive.
