Subconscious Symphony
Heavy drums thrum inside my head,
Pushed to think on morning's brink.
With mind's eyes still in bed,
Dreaming, dreading, what's ahead.
As today's songs are being sung,
Strings become even more high-strung.
Although there's still much to ponder,
My thoughts can't help but wander.
I'm sure I've done my best,
Following other's behest.
Thoughtful lyrics are put to rest,
As I retreat into my nest.
