Drown
Drowning in fear,
in hate.
We try to breathe,
to scream.
The hate fills our lungs,
silencing our words.
We kick and bite,
wanting freedom.
The torture,
the pain.
Soon our lungs tire,
they let out a final word,
before they give.
Freedom.
To drown is not to be in water,
it is letting yourself give in
to whatever tries to control you.
The darkness, is sempiternal,
once you drown.
