Love's Force
So we're starting at the bottom
And working our way up
Building a relationship
Stronger than steel.
You said you'd loved me since day one
But on day one for me
My thought upon sight of you,
"No way."
I didn't want to fall in love again
Last experience was a miss
But as you pulled me closer
I started to forget
About the a**hole that lied to me
Who said they cared,
But didn't.
He made me throw my heart away.
In hopes that the pain he created
And told me wasn't real
Would be unreal
and fade.
And as I'd hoped, it did.
But my heart didn't return undamaged
So your words of affection
Crash into brick walls
"I like your hair," or "I love your outfit,"
Couldn't break through
But baby girl and my dear
Took my breath away
My wobbling walls frighten me
Protection lost, now off-guard
I try to hold it up
But weakly slip again and again
I've always dreamed of this
And what you're giving tome
Is so kind and sweet
And I'm so flustered and can't say
I'm at a loss to respond with such
Power and beauty like you
No energy can create words
To show you
That I'm so very happy
And I love you
I wish to give you
the world and more
