Fragile people made of glass

Don't do well under pressure

One little snap

Makes a crack

That stays and grows forever

Tough people made of stone

Do very well under pressure

One little crack

Won't set them back

They own it like a treasure

But when those tough people

Toss their rocks of words at glass

They won't see

How they'll be

at the end of class

And when those glass people

Become targets for stone

They don't know

If the others will see

How they withstand it alone

Fissures and grooves and ravines

And lines and scars galore

People just think

that those who are weak

Belong down on the floor

So they add to those marks

that make the weaker crumble

And watch them melt

and chip away

As the world begins to rumble

Because when disorder sets about

Mother Nature won't take it so

Then magma pours out

Melts stone to the core

To reuse as tectonic grout

A painful task to do

To hold the earth together

As it shifts and moves

And tosses and turns

The weaker ones ahve none to lose

So if you'll take anything from this

Let it just stand alone

Than when glass people

Who fight till they're brittle

Are stronger than those in stone.
