I labor my life on a daily basis
I strive through strife often
I trudge through my prejudices
and my will begins to weaken

my bones are fragile, my heart’s been torn
I the “wayward wanderer” on a road unworn
I the lone mountainclimber on the Himalayas
I the lone explorer in the Antarcticas

My jacket wrapped me 10 times more
my fingers bluing from the frost of fail
my cracked lips and my rotting core
to a mountain they yearn to hail

but knees are frozen in position
until I achieve my destination
stiff steps toward the astounding apex
Ignoring pains’s-and tragedy’s vex

thrice I fall and thrice I stumble
the tears of surrender continuously falling
I desire to let my weak frame crumble
under the pressure of striving

No, I’ll let these fiery tears melt the snow
since pain is the path that I follow
and I’ll make this path my very own
As the burning ice slides off my free bones
