Handicapped Heart
I was born with a weird handicap
A handicap of loving, loving too much
I loved every passer-by, every stranger
Everyone that crossed my way
I loved my classmates, my friends
I loved my parents friends,
I love the parents of my friends
I loved every flower, every plant
I loved every little animal, every pebble
I loved every hill, every mountain
Seas, oceans, rivers did not stop my love
I loved art, I loved life
But that was not the real handicap
The real handicap was the precarious love
That came with great pain when gone
Bone-chilling, mind-numbing sadness
If anyone felt hurt, not accepted
If a little plant was killed, a pebble moved
An animal hurting or dead
Hills and mountains destroyed by our misery
Cries of despair from oceans all over
Riddled with human garbage of hatred
When someone twisted my art,
When these things happen,
The root of my love was shaken
For I didn't love life so much anymore
I'm a handicapped mind that people think normal
No one understands the loneliness of love
I try to forget but I love too much
I was born in a hospital room,
Doctors thought I was healthy,
But I wasn't because I was handicapped
By strange, overflowing love
