Kids as Adults
In our little cottage on a farm
We created memories
In our treehouse we sailed
Foreign sea and ocean ahead
We could imagine adventures
As adults, with a child's mind
We were innocent and glowing
With love and joy, imagination
Building our own little world
In those walks in the woods
Those times we danced
In the small clearings off the path
Thinking out of the box, being free
We twirled and turned, loving more
My feet were brown with dirt
As I embarked you into my imaginary
My world I created, I let you in
With the squeeze of a hand, we were gone
Into the lost fissure of my creativity
We roamed lands afar, gathered plants
We smiled and played guiltlessly
As little kids would if they found themselves
In a forest so wild and free
Freedom was ours to hold
Loving innocently what we had
That was when we felt true love
